Three-quarters of those living under $1.25 a day live in rural areas and depend on agriculture for their livelihoods. Smallholder and subsistence farmers need solutions that will increase productivity and growth while helping to mitigate risks.
This session will delve into innovative agricultural solutions that improve resiliency through financing, training, insurance and strengthening of value chains. We will discuss products and tools that better integrate smallholder farmers and other microentrepreneurs within the value chain into the input and output agricultural markets to develop strong partnerships and distribution systems thus improving their marketability, profitability, and efficiency.
