Della Sowah, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Gender, Children & Social Protection
Hon. Della Sowah is a native of Kpando and represents them in Parliament. She holds a Diploma in Finance; a Degree in Social Sciences and MBA in Business Administration.
Prior to entering Parliament she worked with various organizations in sales, marketing, communications, strategic planning and research. These are notable with Dapeg Int. on the accounts of USAID, Mobil Oil, Microsoft, GSMF to mention a few.
Hon Sowah worked for several years in social marketing; promoting healthy lifestyles and contraceptive use among young adults and rural women. An ardent social worker, she worked for years with under privilege groups in rural areas. She now partners an NGO the Future Stars. It is an advocacy platform for the empowerment of the under privileged in education, agriculture and skills development.
In 2013 Hon Sowah joined campaign for financial inclusion of the under privileged as a representive of a rural community in Parliament. Her driving force was the huge demand of her constituents for financial assistance to either engage in a small scale enterprise (farming, fishing or petty trading) or to expand their businesses.
Her work with the under privilege caught the President’s eye who appointed her as Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection.
