Imran Inam, Chief Executive Officer, Community Development & Research Organization (CRDO)
Mr. Imran Inam did his M.Sc (Hons) in Rural Development, equivalent to M.Phil, in 2001 from Institute of Development Studies (IDS), University of Agriculture, Peshawar Pakistan. He has served in national and international organizations like WWF, SPO, CMDO, CRDO at various posts and has also served as regional executive of KP province for ‘Pakistan Gems and Jewelry Development Company’ till 2008. In 2008 he joined Community Research and Development Organization (CRDO) as founding member and CEO and is serving at the same post till date.
The most relevant research to the theme of 18 Microcredit Summit is named as “Impact of Community Revolving Funds (CRF) for Older People.” The project was originally funded by Help Age International (HAI) and implemented by CRDO.
Some of major components of the projects included:
- Establishment of 24 OPAs (3 for women, 2 mixed and 19 male) which were registered under Social Welfare Act and now has official bank accounts to transparently record their financial transactions
- 500 mobility aids were distributed among the older people which included wheelchairs, crouches, walking sticks and hearing-aid devices
- 24 trainings on health and CBDRM were conducted which included 50% female participants.
