Marco Marchese, Economist, Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)
Marco Marchese is an economist at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) where he covers the analysis of SME and entrepreneurship policies at the national and regional level. He is currently the responsible of the OECD country reviews of SME policies, which have recently covered Canada, Italy and Mexico. Recently, he has also led a study on “Entrepreneurship, SMEs and Local Development in Abu Dhabi”, which will be launched on the occasion of the 18th Microcredit Summit.
Prior to joining the OECD in 2007, he had worked for the International Labour Office (ILO) and for the Italian Prime Minister’s office and had been Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He holds a Master of Science in Development Economics from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, Italy, and is fluent in Italian, English, French and Portuguese.
