Natalia Realpe Carrillo, Senior Consultant/Project Manager, MicroEnergy International
Natalia Realpe Carrillo is a Senior Consultant and Project Manager at MicroEnergy International, which she joined in 2010. Natalia has managed projects on green finance from incubation up to up scaling in Latin America, Africa and Central Asia. Her professional competency lies in supporting MFIs in their diversification process to introduce green finance into their financial portfolios; developing tools for technologies and stakeholder assessment, and conducting trainings on inter-sectorial negotiations. Working at both microfinance and energy sectors with multiple partners, Natalia brings together stakeholders to collaborate and initiate partnerships in green lending aiming at satisfying energy needs of the structurally poor.
Ms. Realpe received her diploma as an industrial engineer from Universidad de Los Andes, Bogota, Colombia. She completed her Masters in Industrial and Network Economics at the Technical University Berlin, where she is currently finalizing her PhD. As part of her post-graduate studies, Natalia was awarded twice the UMM (University Meets Microfinance) Scholarship, in order to perform thesis field research in experimental economics in Oaxaca, Mexico, and doctoral field research in energy use for productive activities in rural areas in Colombia.
