The microfinance movement has often overlooked the role that youth can play in driving economic development and social change. Youth have the highest unemployment rates in the Middle East and North Africa region, and have the lowest access to financial services.
This session will look at programs and policies that work to provide children and youth with the knowledge necessary to make wise financial decisions, innovative delivery channels for targeted products and services, and most importantly ways to empower them to capitalize on economic opportunities and gain employment. Examples will include financial literacy programs, vocational trainings, and financial products and services targeted at youth.
